Our first car

Remember when maybe your parents gave you your first car? Or that job you had where you had to work for a long time to gather enough money to buy your first car?

Many of us can tell all those great stories behind our first car.
In my personal case, my parents gave me a 1989 Honda Accord LX as I entered to a college in another town. That was, by that time, the family car in my house. But my father bought a Suzuki Baleno (a.k.a. Esteem) 2000 as a new family car, so I inherited the Accord.
I had my Accord for about 5 years, but it was in the family for about 6 years before it was mine. Long story short, mechanical parts were very difficult to find, and prices were too high for them. Time came when my mechanic (a.k.a. dad) got tired of fixing the car almost every month, and parts were expensive and we had to wait until they arrived, so I decided to sell the car. Goodbye Accord! :'(
But before selling the Accord, my job gave me the opportunity to buy another car, this time one for me. So I bought a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse. May not be the perfect car, but hey, I love it!
Thing is, that we make really strong bonds with cars (even though they don't feel) but they really can become like part of us, of our family, our identity.
I named my Accord the Black Eye, don't ask why. And the Eclipse is named Dirty Boy, because its white and when its dirty you can really notice it. A girl friend of mine named her car (Hyundai Accent I don't know the year) Speedy, and even though the car looks like its ready to go straight to the Junker, she really loves it. Another friend of mine has a 95 Civic coupe, and its color is dark gray, but in the sun, it kind of looks purple-ish. So the car was named The Grape. Another friend has like a 70-something Chevy Nova, white, named The Dove. And just like that, we kind of make our cars a living being, and we know when they are ok, when they are "sick" (LOL), when they are in need of a long trip.... Ok that's more of a need we have....
So anyways, I Hope you've liked my new post, if you are reading it and want to share the story of your first car or if you had a name to it, feel free to write a comment bellow. Remember, like, share, comment, you can follow me in G+ under A Blog of Cars.
